Transforming Sweet Treats Into Art

Hi, I'm Laura, the heart and hands behind The Iced Queen. What began as a simple act of love—baking sugar cookies for my daughter's over-the-top Frozen themed 6th birthday party—has grown into a joyful passion that fills my days with creativity, color, and sweetness. Looking back nearly twelve years ago, when I was inspired by amazing cookie designs online, and thought, “Pfft, easy peasy-I’ll whip up some Elsa cookies and blow her little mind!” Spoiler: The only thing blown was my ego. It was an epic failure. And into the trash they went. But hey, that flop flipped the script: it sparked a mission, a passion…okay, fine, a full-blown obsession to conquer the cookie kingdom. 

Through all these years of trial, error, and lots of taste-testing, I developed what I now call my perfect sugar cookie recipe: soft, flavorful, and the ideal canvas for decoration.Today, I create custom, hand-decorated sugar cookies that are true edible works of art. From birthdays and weddings to holidays, baby showers, corporate events, and everything in between, each cookie is designed with care and attention to detail. Whether it's intricate royal icing details, elegant themes, or playful custom shapes, I love turning special moments into something beautiful and delicious. Over the years, I've crafted hundreds of unique designs, and nothing brings me more happiness than seeing a client's face light up when they see their vision brought to life in cookie form. Beyond the kitchen, design has always been my deepest passion. I also pour my creativity into architectural work, designing new custom homes where form meets function in harmonious, inspiring ways. For me, baking and building are two sides of the same coin—both involve envisioning something from nothing, layering details thoughtfully, and creating spaces (or treats!) that bring people joy and comfort.
